matan’s Mistress constantly occupies his thoughts. When his work PC prompted him for a new password it was Her name that was immediately typed in without a second thought. All he wants to do is be with his Mistress and he does anything to be with Her even when it conflicts with Her orders. For instance recently he entered the Inn and went straight over to be by Her side ignoring everyone else and not offering to serve. The Free of this home have had to speak to him on more than one occassion about his behavior. He acts impulsively without thinking of the consequences and just follows his heart as he wants to serve his Mistress and to be with Her so much. These are not the actions of a slave and these are not good times for matan. He gets very frustrated with himself but he only has himself to blame. Can he ever be moulded and shaped into the perfect slave that he so desires to be for his Mistress?

These days his Mistress has much more important things to concern Herself with than the antics of Her insubordinate slave. No doubt tired of his behaviour She must despair of him. Whatever aspirations She had for him have not been realised yet nor seem likely to be in the immediate future. Perhaps the best thing would be to sell him and put him out of his misery.
As matan lies on the floor of his kennel he instinctively reaches out and touches his collar. Metal it may be but at the moment it hangs there by the most slenderest of threads.
